ADAPTIVE REUSE - MIXED USE INTERVENTION

For my final third year project, I have to propose a self-negotiated design intervention for Allestree Stables, a historically significant but neglected property. My intervention can be thematic, such as food or education, or it can address a specific need in Derby. It should highlight the site's unique surroundings while emphasising sustainability and minimal carbon footprint. The objective is to creatively repurpose all of the buildings, finding new ways to connect them while preserving the site's heritage. My design should strike a balance between the old and the new, preserving the historical essence while including modern, functional elements.
